Hi! I’m Heather – writer, traveler and fan of good food. I was born in Texas, but have spent half of my life in Stockholm, Sweden with my Swedish husband and two kids. It was quite a culture shock in the beginning, but now I feel I’ve found the great parts to embrace about both cultures.
Stockholm is a beautiful and fascinating city in which to live. I’ve lived and worked all over town and had lots of time to explore and roam the city, the nature and to branch out around the surroundings. When I first arrived over two decades ago, there wasn’t much of a food scene if you weren’t into meat and potatoes. Now, the city has gone through a food revolution with hamburgers that rival those in the U.S., brick oven pizzas that taste straight out of Naples, and top level food from Asia, South America and even Africa. One of my favorite things to do with friends is to explore all the new places popping up, and every cuisine we can find. So, I’m happy to support these amazing places and share them with as many people as possible so they keep expanding!
Sweden is also one of the best places to raise kids and Stockholm is full of activities and nature to keep them active and entertained. Not only is this city great about interactive museums, parks and places to splash around, it also hosts many special activities for all ages during different times of the year. I aspire to keep this site up to date, not only with everyday tips, but also with seasonal happenings.
Living in Europe has also allowed me to travel extensively and experience other places and cultures, so I know the types of things I like to research when visiting another town. Now I hope to share my knowledge of Stockholm in the same way that so many other travel sites and bloggers have shared knowledge with me, so visitors can get the absolute best experience of the beauty, activities, tastes and all Stockholm has to offer.
Thank you for joining me on this journey and be sure to bookmark this page because I am constantly updating as I find more places and more subjects visitors would like to learn more about.
